This legal assignment brings together a strengths-weakness-opportunities-threats (SWOT) analysis, an option assessment and the contractual design a special public-private purpose vehicle (SPV) to develop and manage REDD+ activities of the Guatemala’s Maya Biosphere Reserve. Tasks under the assignment included the mapping of national and international laws and standards, acting (public and private) and international requirements for carbon credit commercialization and REDD+ investments; the development of an action plan for implementation; workshops and negotiations with public and private stakeholders; and the drafting of the corporate and contractual framework.
